History[]
Adora doesn't remember much about how she became a slave. She remembers as far back as when she was about 5 years old. There was screaming and everyone running around. Her parents told her to stay inside their home while they went outside. The screaming scared her, so she stayed hidden, but eventually everything quieted and that scared her more. She slowly ventured outside and the smell of blood overwhelmed her budding senses. She cried out for her parents, but no one answered her. She looked around at several of her clan, but no one was moving. She sat on the ground and started to cry. She then remember someone walking up to her wearing red robes, but she didn't look up. The man said something but she didn't understand. However she felt very sleepy and quickly succumbed.
When she woke again, she was in a carriage, asleep on the floor. She sat up and saw a man in the carriage also, his hard eyes staring at her. He did not look friendly. She began crying and he rolled his eyes, saying "That'll be enough of that." He said his strange words again and once more, she fell asleep.
She has lived with him ever since. Shortly after arriving, he put his mark on her and created the mind link between them. Her training then began in earnest.
She discovered she was good at stealing and sneaking, but Nicholas was always critical of her and very harsh with punishments. He has always frightened her but as she grew older, she hid that fear behind her sarcastic comments. However she sometimes pushed him too far and was brutally punished for it. She quickly learned how far to push him without punishment and to detect his moods.
He sent her on many missions, which she enjoyed since it got her away from him, and she completed them skillfully, but he never gave compliments and never let her keep anything once she returned.
During one mission, she met a monk who helped her learn to block Nicholas out of her mind, so he can't find her or talk to her. She carefully practiced until she felt she was good enough to try escaping again. Nicholas sent her on another mission, but this time she didn't complete it and she hasn't returned.
